The Balancing Act of Life

This is one of my new limited edition sculptures. The articulated trapeze artist is constructed from clay and wire. Her tutu is made from custom printed tissue paper, tulle, and ribbon. She is perched on a painted wooden trapeze bar within a wire trapeze that swings from the top of the frame. In the background are the words “love/hate, work/leisure, good/evil, fear/courage” printed on fabric that is finished with wax encaustic. The frame is 2″ deep x 1.25″ wide across the surface. Overall size of this piece is 8 x 10 x 2″. The title on the front of the frame is made from painted and weathered metal with custom printed canvas.
