Underneath the muslin lampshade is a small 12 volt light that unscrews for easy changing when it burns out. It runs on a 9 volt battery that is inset into the back of the piece.There is a tiny on/off switch on the bottom of the piece so you don’t have to remove it from the wall to turn it off and on. There is a soft glow on the pale green bird that perches on the red wood twig. The found wood plaque measures approx. 4.5″ x 6″ and has a handpainted red scallop on each side. Price-$90.00

Hippodrome hanging lamp

This one-of-a-kind lamp is a hanging wire sculpture of a weathered tree under the skeleton frame of a circus tent. There is a flag at the top of the tent canopy that has the word “Hippodrome” on it. The overall size of this lamp is approx. 32″ long x 16″ wide. It has a 15 foot clear electric cord with a weathered brass chain and an inline on/off switch. It can use up to a 55 watt bulb and has a candleabra socket. All the lamp parts are UL listed.

Hidden Potential lamp

This lamp is mounted on a piece of white barnwood from near my home in Kansas. It sits within a beautiful antique Encyclopedia Americana box that still has the shipping receipt attached. It is dated 11-9-45. The overall size of this lamp is approx. 26″ from the top of the wood to the bottom of the lamp. The wire design inside the off-white muslin shade is of leaves that intertwine and they cast shadows that move around the suspended clay trapeze artist ever so slightly. The muslin shade is handpainted with tea into a subtle stripe design and is sprayed on the interior with flameproof spray. The light is a 55 watt LED light, which gives off no heat. All lamp parts are UL listed. The cord is a retro looking 10 ft. cloth covered cord with an inline on/off switch and a retro looking plug. This lamp within the box can be made to hang on a wall if you wish-just email me to request that when you purchase.

Grow Tree Lamp

This is another lamp in my bird series. The tree in the center is constructed from off-white tissue over a wire base. The ivory birds on the branches are made from clay and have a crackled finish. Perfect for any room in the house including a child’s bedroom, this piece is constructed of white fabric, tissue paper, black fringe, wire, and clay. The light I used in the photo is 7 watts, which gives a soft subtle glow, although you can use a brighter candelabra-sized LED bulb if desired. The lamp is suspended by a 15-foot white electric cord with white chain. Overall size of lamp is approx. 15″ high x 10″ diameter. All lamp parts are UL listed.

The Firecracker lighted sculpture

This piece is based on an old rollercoaster near my home in KCMO. The park that the coaster was in had closed due to a tornado but they left the coaster standing for years. Tree branches grew up through the rails and birds perched there also. I thought it looked so eerie, lonely and haunting that I made a sculpture of it. This piece contains a 12v dollhouse light that has a screwbase bulb so it can be changed if necessary. It has a 10-ft cloth covered retro looking cord with an inline on/off switch. It plugs into a regular wall outlet. The base is made from fabric covered metal surrounding a sturdy wood base.

This is one of my newest lamps. The clay bird in the center is off white and has a crackled finish. Polka Dot Lamp with Lovebirds

This is a lamp with a more graphic yet still romantic feel. The red clay lovebirds sit in a nest made of weathered wire, old sheet music, and torn bits of canvas. This lamp also has a “reveal”-when the light is off it just shows white polka dots but at night, cream colored stars show subtly through the polka dots. The shade is made from a layer of white fabric, a cream colored star layer and a black tissue layer, all rimmed with white fringe. The light is 5 watts, which gives a soft subtle glow and is suspended by a 15-foot electric cord with weathered brass chain. Overall size of lamp is approx. 17″ high x 9″ diameter. The interior of all my lampshades are coated with a non-flammable spray. All lamp parts are UL listed. This lamp is meant to be used with a 5 to 7 watt decorative bulb only. Curling Leaf Lovebird Lamp

This is a lamp that will give a romantic glow to any area of your house. The light yellow clay lovebirds sit in a nest made of weathered wire, old sheet music, and torn bits of canvas. This lamp also has a “reveal”-when the light is off the leaves look like they’re one shape but at night, smaller leaves show through the leaf centers. The shade is made from a layer of white fabric, cream colored tissue, handpainted swirls, old sheet music leaves and a final layer of brown tissue leaves, all rimmed with black fringe. There is also a muslin scallop around the top of the lamp. The light shown here is 5 watts, which gives a soft subtle glow, however this lamp can be used with any candelabra-sized LED bulb (available at any hardware store) for a brighter glow.

This is a lamp with a backdrop that looks like an old weathered barn similar to the ones near me here in Kansas.The red and white clay lovebirds sit in a nest made of weathered wire, old sheet music, and torn bits of canvas. The shade is made from a layer of white fabric and covered with layers of black and cream tissue paper. The light is 5 watts, which gives a soft subtle glow and is suspended by cloth covered braided wire electric cord that also lends to the vintage look. The cord is entwined around the wire branches so the lamp suspends from the backdrop by 3 or 4 inches. Overall size of lamp is approx. 23″ high x 14″ wide x 11″ deep. The interior of all my lampshades are coated with a non-flammable spray. All lamp parts are UL listed. This lamp is meant to be used with a 5 watt decorative bulb only.
